Mari Carmen accepts permanent W2 position in our group
Mari Carmen Bañuls is starting with her own W2 research group.

Mari Carmen is an essential part of the theory group since many years and her excellent research of complex quantum systems made her the ideal candidate to proceed with her own W2 research group.
W2 positions mark an important scientific recognition and grant the permanent right to independent research. With this scientific promotion, the institute's management seeks to express its special appreciation of Mari Carmens work on the understanding of complex quantum systems and group leading skills. Her research focuses on the development and application of tensor network methods for the numerical simulation of quantum many-body systems and quantum dynamic phenomena beyond equilibrium.
Currently, four PhD Candidates are working under the supervision of Mari Carmen in her research group. Further information about her group can be found here: https://www.mpq.mpg.de/6939195/tensor-networks
