Theory Seminar: DressuaG: locally enforcing Gauss law in lattice gauge theories

Lattice gauge theories are characterized by an extensive set of local symmetry constraints, known as Gauss laws, which can be exploited to improve the efficiency and accuracy of simulations. In this talk, I will introduce the dressed-site formalism, which trades the generally non-Abelian Gauss law constraints for simpler Abelian ones, thereby removing a large amount of gauge redundancy while preserving the tensor-product structure of the Hilbert space and the locality of the Hamiltonian. Finally, I will present DressuaG, a Python library that takes a model's gauge group and matter content as input and constructs the corresponding dressed-site basis and operators, providing a flexible encoding for both tensor network and quantum simulations.
